SID POV: I couldn't stop looking at her. I had to hold back a grin, knowing what was coming. She had no clue. I'd spent weeks planning this moment, hoping everything would fall into place.
I couldn't stop smiling as we stepped off the plane in Montreal. I'd been looking forward to this trip for weeks, just the two of us. No distractions, no one else around—just Alia and me, together. I knew she had no idea what was coming. She thought this was just a regular trip for us to relax and enjoy, but I had something big planned for the end of it. But for now, all I wanted was to enjoy the time we had.
I had so many memories here, most of them centered around her. How could I forget that first kiss? The one that left my heart racing, with her flustered and me still unsure of what I was feeling. The weird tension we'd had that day, the misunderstandings... everything that had led us to this point. And now, I was here with her, alone, no more interruptions.
"Are you excited for this weekend, or what?" I asked her
Alia rolled her eyes "Sid, we're just here to chill. Don't make it sound like we're on some fancy vacation."
"Chill, huh?" I raised an eyebrow. "I'm just saying, it's Montreal. The city of love. Beautiful views, delicious food... I'm sure we can find something fun to do even in the hotel rooms"
"shut up, Sid," she snapped
" you shut up."
She raised an eyebrow "Make me."
I stepped closer to her, my voice dropping to a playful whisper. "I will. But you'll moan a little."
Her cheeks flushed immediately, and she slapped my arm
"So, what now? We get some fancy dinner? Stroll through the city like we're in a rom-com?" she asked, shifting the topic but still keeping her eyes on me.
I chuckled, loving her lightheartedness. "Something like that," I said, taking her hand in mine. "But we'll take our time."
NEXT DAY
The next day, the sun was a little higher in the sky, casting a warm glow on everything. Alia and I had made our way to the beach, just the two of us. I had arranged everything — the hotel, the beach, everything — so we could have this moment alone. I wanted to make sure she felt special, like she deserved.I booked the entire beach for no one to enter except us and our family and friends.
Alia was always so full of life, and watching her now, running around and playing in the sand, I couldn't help but smile. She looked like a kid again, the way her hair flew in the wind and how she skipped over the waves that tried to touch her feet. She was laughing, the sound carrying on the breeze, and it made me feel like everything was right in the world.
I sat on the beach, tired of playing with her and just watched her for a while. I didn't mind the silence it felt peaceful.
After some time, Alia finally came over to where I was sitting, her feet leaving little wet prints behind in the sand. She was still smiling, but now she was a little out of breath, clearly enjoying herself. She plopped down beside me, her eyes shining with that same excitement.
"You okay?" she asked, giving me a playful side-eye. I couldn't stop smiling at her.
"I'm perfect," I said, my voice low and full of sincerity. "You look beautiful."
She rolled her eyes, nudging me with her shoulder. " You always say that."
"Well, it's true every time," I said
She rested her head on my shoulder, her breath warm against my skin. I felt my heart skip a beat at the feeling.
"Do you remember our first kiss?" she asked softly
"I remember," I said, my voice thick with the memories. "How could I forget?"
We sat there like that for a while, watching the waves crash on the shore, the sound of the water mingling with the soft rustling of the wind.It felt like time had slowed down, like nothing else mattered but us. The world outside of this beach didn't exist.
And here we were, at the same beach where our first kiss happened. The same place where things had been messy and confusing. And yet, here we were again, sitting together in perfect silence, as if the universe had brought us back here to make things right.
"I can't believe how much things have changed," Alia murmured
I gently moved a strand of her hair behind her ear,I took her hand in mine, feeling the warmth of her fingers against mine. "Come on, let's go for a walk," I said softly, standing up and pulling her gently to her feet.
She didn't ask any questions, just stood up with me, her hand still firmly in mine. We started walking along the beach
"Lets click a picture first"She said
"Alright, let's take a picture," I said, not letting on that I'd already arranged for a photographer to discreetly capture the moment.
ALIA POV:
As we walked closer to the spot on the beach, I couldn't help but feel a little confusedseeing a proposal setup . The setup was beautiful—way too beautiful to just be for us. I noticed the white flowers, the fairy lights hanging down from the wooden arch, and the candles placed so neatly around the area. It looked like something straight out of a dream, but not something that was meant for us.
"Sid," I said, my voice soft with hesitation. "Isn't this for someone else's proposal? I mean, look at this place. It's so... perfect. We're going to spoil their moment if we go any closer."
Sid didn't stop walking, though. He just smiled at me and gently tugged my hand. "No, Alia. Let's at least go see it. We're not going to spoil anything. Come on, I promise it's fine."
I wasn't convinced. My feet dragged a little in the sand as I followed him. The closer we got, the more it seemed like it was definitely for a proposal. The thought of intruding on someone's special moment made me feel a little uncomfortable, but Sid just seemed so sure.
"Sid," I whispered again, my voice filled with doubt. "I really think we should go the other way. Someone might be waiting here for their big moment."
Sid didn't seem to listen to me. He kept walking toward the setup, his grip on my hand firm, and a playful smile on his face.
We walked forward, and suddenly, the sound of a whistle pierced the air. A few seconds later, I saw figures emerge from behind the trees and bushes—our friends,my parents, his parents. They were all gathered around, clapping, smiling, and cheering.
"Wait... what?" I said, blinking in surprise. I stood there, completely frozen, unable to process what was happening.
I turned to Sid, my heart suddenly racing. "What's going on?"
I think I know what's going on now
Sid just smiled, and for a second, I felt the knot in my stomach tighten. He looked so calm, so collected. But the sudden realization hit me—this wasn't someone else's proposal. This was ours.
I couldn't believe it. The setup, the people hiding, the cheers—it was all for us. My hands trembled slightly, and my heart skipped a beat. I felt so overwhelmed, like everything was happening too fast, but in the most beautiful way.
As I stood there, staring at everyone around us, Sid took my hands in his. I looked up at him, my mouth dry, and for a moment, I had no idea what to say. He smiled at me again, this time softer, and I felt his warmth wrap around me like a safe embrace.
"I don't know when it happened," he begins, his thumb gently tracing circles on her skin, "but one day, I realized... I was in love with you. And I think... I think I always have been, even when I didn't know it. I know we didn't start off in the easiest way, and I know I was the last person who ever deserved you back then. I was the guy who teased you, who made you feel small when all you ever did was love from afar."
"But somewhere along the way, somewhere between teasing you and being oblivious to what I was feeling, I started to see you, really see you. And once I saw you, I couldn't unsee you. I couldn't stop thinking about you, about how incredible you are, how you've always been a constant in my life, even when I didn't realize it.
"You've been my classmate,my enemy, my neighbor, my best friend,my love... and in all the ways that matter, you've already been everything to me. I've spent so many moments with you, moments where I didn't realize I was falling for you more and more. And now, when I look at you, all I can think about is how I want to keep falling... forever."
He steps closer, his breath mixing with mine
"I love you. More than I could ever say. More than I ever knew how to show. And from this moment on, I want to spend the rest of my life showing you, proving to you that everything I am, everything I do, is for you. I want to be the one who makes you feel loved, valued, and cherished every single day."
Sid's eyes never left mine as he gently pulled me closer. He suddenly reached into his pocket, pulling out a small velvet box. I could feel my heart pounding, each beat louder than the last.
He took a deep breath and slowly sank down onto one knee, his gaze never faltering.
The world seemed to quiet down around us, as if everything had paused just for this moment.
His voice softens, his hands still holding hers with a gentle strength. "So, with everything I have, and with all the love I've found in this second chance with you—will you marry me?"
I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. They rolled down my cheeks as I looked at Sid, my voice trembling with happiness. "Yes," I whispered and As soon as I said it he slipped the ring onto my finger
The words came out of me like a promise, like a dream coming true. And in that moment, everything felt perfect. Sid's face lit up with the biggest smile, and he stood up to pull me into his arms. I could feel his warmth, his love, as he wrapped me in the tightest embrace.
The sound of cheering and clapping filled the air, but none of that mattered. All that mattered was that Sid was holding me, his heart and mine in perfect sync. His arms around me were the most comforting place I had ever been.
As we held each other, the sky above us suddenly erupted into a burst of color—fireworks. They exploded in the night sky, painting it with bright, shimmering lights. Each one seemed to mirror the joy in my heart, lighting up the darkness with every pop and crackle.
I pulled back slightly to look up at the sky, my eyes wide with awe.
"You've always been the person who made me feel like home. No matter what happened, no matter how far apart we were... you always felt like where I belonged. And I don't ever want to lose that. I don't ever want to lose you."I say hugging him
As Sid and I pulled away from the hug, still holding each other close, we turned to see the faces of our friends and family. Their smiles were wide, and I could see tears in some of their eyes
My parents were the first to rush toward us. Amma had tears in her eyes, and Nanna was beaming from ear to ear.
"We were beginning to think you'd never propose, Sid!"Amma said
"Same here,"Nanna added, patting Sid on the shoulder with a teasing grin. "You've been practically a part of this family for years, but now it's official!"
Sid laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head. "What can I say? I wanted it to be perfect Amma"
"And it was," Amma said, turning to me with a twinkle in her eye. "Wasn't it, Alia?"
I nodded, my cheeks flushing as everyone's attention turned to me. "It was... beyond perfect," I said softly, looking up at Sid, who squeezed my hand reassuringly.
Sid's mom stepped forward next, her eyes glistening with happy tears. She took my hands in hers, her voice gentle.
"Finally!"Maa exclaimed, pulling me into a hug before turning to Sid. "I told you she is a gem. Now, don't you dare let him go!"
"Maa" he blushed, but before I could say more, I grinned.
"he's not letting me go, Maa. I promise you that."
"You've got us now," Sid's dad added, his voice steady and reassuring. "And if Sid ever gets on your nerves, you just let me know. We'll sort him out."
We all laughed, and just as I was beginning to think the teasing was over
"Ofcourse papa"I said laughingly
"Congratulations, Alia. You're stuck with this guy now," Kabir said, his voice filled with humor.
"Shut up, Kabir," Sid said.
"You act like I haven't been stuck with him for years already."I said
He chuckled. "Fair enough," he said, and then looked over at Sid. "But seriously, man, I'm so happy for you both. You guys are perfect together."
"Okay, okay, enough with the mushy stuff," Samaira said, rolling her eyes but clearly trying to hide her smile. "I just want to know when the wedding is happening so I can start planning the bachelorette party!"
"Oh, no," I groaned, hiding my face in my hands. "Not you too, Samaira."
Aayush laughed, ruffling my hair. "Come on, Alia. We're all in this together now. Sid's not going anywhere."
"I didn't know you were so dramatic, Aayush," I teased, but the warmth in my voice showed just how happy I was to be surrounded by my closest friends.
Saanvi stepped forward, her arms open for a hug. "I'm so happy for you, Alia! And Sid," she added, hugging him tightly. "You two are goals. We all knew this day would come."
"I'm just here for the cake," Hriday said nonchalantly, his signature smirk on his face.
"Congratulations, Alia," he said softly. "You deserve all the happiness in the world."
I smiled warmly at him, touched by his words. "Thanks, Lucas. That means a lot."
"Alright, alright," Kabir said, stepping back to look at us with a grin. "Enough with the speeches. We need to celebrate! There's a whole party waiting for us back at the resort. The fireworks are still going strong."
Sid looked at me with a soft smile, squeezing my hand gently. "Are you ready to celebrate, love?"
I nodded, my heart full of so many emotions that I couldn't even process them all. "Kaafi prepared hain aap Mr.Sehgal"
"Sab aap hi ke liye hain,Mrs.Sehgal"He said

Sid squeezed my hand again, his voice steady and full of promise. "It's our dream, Alia. And it's just beginning."
Finally, Sid proposed to Alia🥹💌
